Not only am I sure this shoot was fun for Ohio photographer Jessi Weithman from Everyday Studios, but it looks like it was a blast for the kids as well! What kid wouldn’t want to do a shoot in a candy store? Love the adorable styling and vintage props. And I love that their grandfather visited this very candy store as a child. But, my very favorite part of this shoot is that adorable bull dog! He’s so stinkin’ cute!
Thank you, Everyday Studios, for sending us this very creative and unique shoot! To view Everyday Studios current work please visit their Facebook Page!

When I was a senior in high school I was awkward and did not have a ton of confidence. The senior girls that Lindsay Horn shoots are so poised, confident, and beautiful! In my opinion, Lindsay, based in Texas, is one of the best senior photographers I have seen. Her light is amazing, locations are beautiful, and she seems to capture each of her subjects true self and inner and outer beauty. There’s something about high school senior pictures. I love how you can see the potential and excitement in each girl. Such an exciting time in a persons life!
Thanks to Lindsay for allowing us to feature your work! And leave her some love. She’s currently on bed rest awaiting the arrival of her second baby!

There are photographers who can take beautiful pictures. And then there are photographers who can take beautiful pictures and also make you feel something when you look at the images. New York photographer, Zoe Berkovic’s work makes me feel happy. Her creativity and the trust of her clients in her vision is awesome. I’m just going to stop talking because Zoe’s work speaks for itself. Visit her blog here!
PS The mom in this session is photographer Jen Snyder. You can check out her work here!

I can’t get enough of these super cute newborns! I saw this image on Pinterest and just knew I had to see more of this session.

Isn’t it breathtaking? I really love Jen’s (from Fauset Photography in Utah) newborn lifestyle sessions. They are just so personal and real. Like this image of the Dad with his new baby, record collection, and guitar. I just love it!

I asked Jen to share some tips on how to make the most of your newborn session:
I love lifestyle newborn sessions. There is something so beautiful, and sacred about capturing new life, especially in your own environment. A few tips…Be patient & don’t stress, babies are amazing at picking up on anxiety. Newborn sessions take a good 2 hours, so there are lots of times for breaks! Don’t worry about a clean house, photographers don’t care, at least I don’t.
Newborns will typically sleep better in the afternoons unless they sleep all night. Keep the house warm. Newborns will sleep so much better if it’s a cozy temperature (80-85 degrees). Plan ahead. If you can plan what your “vision” is for your session you can plan accordingly before you have your newborn in your arms with no time for thinking.
Decide before hand if you’d like to be in the photos, or just baby alone. Collect any things you’d like to have in your shots, heirlooms, a special blanket, something that represents your life. Capturing them within the first 10 days of life is best, this way they are still moldable and sleepy. However, sometimes that’s just not a possibility, that’s OK, anytime is fine! Babies photograph best asleep, so have the baby fed, burped and changed- diaper loosned so there are no diaper lines about 30 minutes prior to your session. White noise is really helpful as well. Don’t be surprised if your baby, who usually sleep all-day-long wakes up a lot while their being photographed, they’re not used to be picked up and posed every few minutes. They’ll eventually give in and let themselves go deep into dreamland. Last, ENJOY your session.
Such great tips, Jen! And amazing pictures! Thank you so much for sharing with us!
